Q. Will installing this kit add front end load capabilities?
A. NO. The existing torsion bars are designed specifically for each vehicle, and have specific spring rates. This product does not increase spring rate. If you are mounting apparatuses to the front of your vehicle, calculate the weight.
Never exceed the vehicles maximum front gross vehicle weight capacity!
CAUTIONS
Over adjusting the torsion bar suspension is not suggested nor is it recommended.
Have an ASE certified front end technician install our product.
Q. What tire size can I expect to run on my truck after installing your product?
A.With our MAXXCAMS installed you should be able to fit LT285s utilizing stock wheel dimensions.
Q. What does this leveling kit do for my Chevy Truck and or Dodge Ram?
A.Independent Front Suspension (IFS) vehicles with torsion bars have numerous advantages over prior designs such as a smooth comfortable ride, truly independent wheel travel and its design allows for CV front drive. GM has 16 different torsion bar part #s for various build options. Cab styles (Standard cab, Extended Cab, 4 door crew cabs, Long box. Short Box) engine combinations ( 4.6 L 5.3 L 6.0 L 8.1 L and the Duramax 6.0 ) transmission options (Manual ,Automatic, Alison heavy duty ) All yielding various loads on the suspension.
The static weight of the vehicle, payload, continuous shock loads caused by normal everyday driving cause wear and a fatigue on the suspension system.
These dynamic forces are constantly twisting the torsion bar as the suspension cycles thru its range of travel from fully unloaded to fully compressed.
Suspension torsion bars carry high loads up to 5,000 ft Lbs of torque. This high load and stress placed on the torsion bars affects the factory calibration.
Most noticeable is that low front end look, minimal ground clearance and lack of suspension travel causing the truck to look as though it needs helper springs, overload springs or possibly a 2 inch to 2.5 in inch lift kit.
Torsion bars can be very expensive to purchase and replace costing hundreds of dollars each plus installation and still not level it up.
SuspensionMAXX has designed and created the MAXXCAM2 Patent Pending 2 piece Adjustable torsion bar key to lift late model full size truck & SUVs 1-2 inches.
MAXXCAM2 leveling kits compensate for wear, sag & fatigue of the original torsion bars for the life of the vehicle without the need for expensive torsion bar replacement.
MAXXCAM2s innovative removable internal geared hub can be preset to 1 of 7 positions prior to installation so just the right amount of lift is achieved.
These features allow the MAXXcam2 to be a custom calibrated to the owner's individual preferences. The torsion bar lever key is an exact replacement component to fit all full-size GM trucks and sport utility vehicles.
Including the Chevy Silverado Z71 4X4s K1500 K2500 k3500 including the HD models Chevrolet Tahoe, Tahoe XL, Suburban, Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4X4 and 2X4, Chevy Avalanche 2500 GMC Sierra K1500 K2500 GMC Yukon ,Yukon XL, GMC Denali, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac EXT.
MAXXCAM2 also fits the HD 2WD C2500 C 3500 Silverado K3500 the 2003 2004 2005 up Hummer H2 all body configurations.
Q. Why not crank the bolts?
A. The key is designed to hold the torsion bar torque. The pretension bolts level the ride side to side NOT
lift front to rear. Cranking the Silverado torsion bars can
cause an unbalanced ride. Crank the bolt is not recommended. If
your Chevy truck or sport utility with IFS suspension is
noticeably unlevel 1 inch to 2 inches lower you will need our
MAXXCAM to compensate for that amount of unlevel indifference
front to rear.
Q. What if I install a 4in lift kit? Will it level my truck?
A. Installing a 4in lift kit will add 4 inches to the front and
add 4inches to the rear. Your truck will continue to have a
downward slant to it. Some lift kit manufactures address this by
only lifting the rear 2 inches. Leveling the front with
MAXXCAM2s Leveling kit is an easy alternative to high cost lift
kits.
Q. How will my truck ride?
A. Calibrating the MAXXCAM2 level kit the recommended amount
could actually improve ride quality by increasing suspension
travel. This added amount will allow the suspension to operate
fully. Causing less contact with the suspension strike out
bumper and a smother ride.
Q. Will I need longer shocks?
A. No. Our MAXXcams can be calibrated to elevate your truck or SUV
to just the right amount so that you use the original shock
absorber. Saving you the expense of buying new shocks.
Q. What if I install longer lift kit shocks , can I lift my truck 3 inches?
A. No. The shock limits wheel travel and prevents over
elevating the steering and driveline angles. Adding longer
shocks can cause elevated wear on steering, driveline, and
chassis components. ents. ents. ents. SuspensionMAXX recommends not adding longer
shocks.
Q. Will I need a wheel alignment after my new leveling kit is installed?
A. Yes Whenever items are changed on the steering or suspension a
basic wheel alignment will be required. Performing wheel
alignments at scheduled intervals will assure you the best value
from your tires and a safe handling vehicle.
Q. What makes the 2 piece design as strong as the non adjustable key it replaces?
A. Computer Engineering! We addressed these concerns by adding
mass where needed and created a uniform high strength unit. One
look at our MaxCAM2 and you'll see the Lasting Quality!
Q. What makes the your leveling kit suitable for off road use?
A. Knowing that our products would be abused off-road on all
Chevy Z71 K1500 K1500 HD K2500 K2500 HD K3500 series crew cab
including GMC Duramax HD. Durability and brute strength was most
important.
Q. Are maxxcams durable enough for heavy duty use?
A. SuspensionMAXX MAXXCAMs are manufactured from 4140 alloy steel
utilizing the latest investment casting technology. Every
MAXXcam is heat treated to ensure added strength. You depend on
your truck! Trust your truck to SuspensionMAXX. YOUR TRUCK
DESERVES THE BEST!
Q. Can I install your leveling kit myself?
The torsion bar is heavily loaded in the vehicle and has extreme
force. Working on the Suspension may seem harmless but only when
the proper tools and equipment are used is the torsion bar
system safe. We recommend that the MAXXcam2 kit be installed by
an ASE certified technician or experienced mechanic using all
the right procedures.
